Remember a childrens' toy pyramid made out of plastic or wooden colorful rings? A little toddler can put it all together. The rings will sit on top of each other held by an invisible rod in the middle. How about we imagine that this toy pyramid is someone's life? As we get older, new rings will appear. New skills, new experiences, jobs, relationships - they are all nothing but the colorful rings on top of each other. And there is no rod to hold them together on the inside.
