Description
Fushimi Inari Shrine is a Shinto shrine in Kyoto, Japan. It is famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates. The trails lead into the forest of the sacred Mount Inari.
The torii gates along the trails are all donations by individuals and companies. Each gate is dedicated to Inari, the Shinto god of rice. In Japan, since rice is considered to have a similar meaning to wealth and good business, the Shinto god also encompasses good fortune in this regard. Thousands of red tori gates are mesmerizing.
