Description
'I am fine' is known as the most commonly told lie in the English language. We always say that phrase if anybody asks 'How are you?'. Are we really fine? Maybe. Or maybe not. There may be a lot going on in our lives. But the person asking if we are fine does not really want to know. It's just a code, a polite saying you are supposed to say when you meet someone. So yes, we are fine. Whatever that may mean.

Congratulations!!!! This is awesome, I so agree with Lori. How are you has become as meaningless as Hello. We all need to care - for real, not just in words. This is a totally cool piece, beautifully composed.

I really like this -- it's so true! How often do I say, "I'm fine," because I know the person I'm talking to doesn't really want the whole story about how bad my day has been. So, "I'm fine. How are you?" And they reply, "I'm fine." Because they suspect or know that I don't really want their whole story either. L/F
